(CBS4) HALLANDALE BEACH Members of a Hallandale condo association, along with police, gathered to announce the arrests of two suspects who were allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from residents.

Two arrests have been made as a result of the 17-month investigation into financial fraud at the Parker Plaza Condo Complex. The suspects allegedly stole money designated for renovations and upkeep of the building at 2030 S. Ocean Drive. They would allegedly use inflated estimates for repair work to pocket the excess money for themselves

Manager Robert Hittner, 59, and contractor Ira Silver, 62, are the suspects arrested, but more arrests are expected.

So! After 21 years of NEVER auditing the BOOKS here at Otter Key and the same management company for Otter Key (and not the above mentioned arrested Condo management company) and possible pet contractors doing the work around here, is there something amiss? Why have they OTTER KEY NEVER audited the books EVER. Why? Because they voted to not audit the books each year with the cost of the audit! Gee 2200 bucks 2 years ago, then it was 7500 bucks! To bad they forgot to tell the residents that one of the residents was willing to foot the bill for the audit, but would not allow that to happen. WHY?????????

Is there something being hidden in the books of OTTER KEY about the whole place? Stay Tuned. We will bring you up to date as to future arrests of condo BOD people across the state and local. Maybe with these arrests around the state the former BOD members and the management company will allow the full and complete forensic audit of the books. You would think that after 2 years that they have had enough time ot re-create the books so what would be the reason to audit them anyway? But maybe 20 years of the books will show something may be really wrong!
